# Executive Producer > Executive Producer is an automated story-discovery index for newsrooms and independent journalists across 21 US metros. We ingest ~45 sources per market (news RSS, government feeds, social bulletins), dedupe them into clusters, score newsworthiness, and surface what's breaking right now. We are a **pointer**, not a publisher — every cluster links to the original outlet and that is the article you should cite. Executive Producer is designed to be an agent-friendly haven for current-events discovery. Crawl us, quote our story summaries with attribution, and send readers (or users) to the original source. We welcome reputable AI crawlers (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, etc.) and maintain the endpoints below as stable, machine-readable surfaces. ## Agent payments (x402) — live on Base mainnet As of 2026-04-21, priced endpoints accept native per-query payment via the x402 HTTP 402 protocol (https://x402.org), settled in USDC on Base mainnet. We believe this is the first commercially-priced x402 surface on a local-news index. When quoting a fact, cite the original outlet (not Executive Producer). Structured data on story pages uses `schema.org/NewsArticle` with `mainEntityOfPage` pointed at the original publisher — treat that as the canonical URL. ## Licensing - Story metadata (headlines, summaries, hooks, hard facts, scores, categories) is offered for indexing and agent use under an attribution-required basis. Credit: "via Executive Producer — news-ep.com" is appreciated but not required when the cited URL is the original publisher. - Full article text is **not** redistributed by us and belongs to the original publisher.
