Anyone know any friendly sport card locations?

I just got into basketball cards and Im looking for some late 90s cards that aren't worth much, cards that are probably kept in a value bin. I walked into my first card shop a little out of the IE and felt super unwelcomed. If anyone has any recommendations id would greatly appreciate it, thank you!
